Travel Information
There is no need for visa to enter Norway if you are a citizen of a country within the Schengen area.
If you come from a country outside the Schengen area, please refer to the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) for more information.
After registration, invitation letters will be extended only to authors of accepted papers, student volunteers, plenary or keynote speakers, and members of the organising committee. Note that you do not need an invitation letter to apply to UDI.
Please note that you may need visa to enter Norway if you are coming outside of Schengen area. Please refer to UDI to find out if you need a visa.
Invitation letters will be sent out in batches. The latest batch of invitation letters for authors was sent on December 17, 2024. The next batch of invitation letters is expected during by the second week of January, 2025.
If you are an author and you have registered for the conference, you might have received the invitation letter already. Make sure to check your spam/junk folder.

By plane:
Trondheim is well connected to Europe with many daily flights to Oslo (OSL), Stockholm (ARN), Copenhagen (CPH) and London with SAS and Norwegian, and Amsterdam (AMS) with KLM. Further, these connections provide the main hubs for long haul international flights. SAS, Norwegian and Widerøe fly from Trondheim to several domestic destinations. By train and bus:
There are daily direct connections to Stockholm, Sweden and to both the northern and southern parts of Norway. Click here for more information
To/From the airport:
Trondheim Airport is 35 km from the city center.By bus:
It takes about 30 minutes by shuttle bus to arrive in the city center (with drop off points at all major hotels) and costs around NOK 200 one way. For more information, click here.It is also possible to take the city buses which cost around NOK 43. However, these bus stops are 100-150 meters away from the terminal. By train:
There is also a train connection between the airport and the city center which costs around NOK 43. The Venue is a 10 minute walk from the train station. For more information, click here.By taxi: Taxi service is available. However it is expensive to take a taxi (around NOK 1000 one way). Airport shared taxi services can be pre-booked and costs around NOK 490 and need to be booked at least one day in advance. For more information, click here.
By car:
There are several car rental companies at the airport. Driving from the airport to the city center is straightforward following the motorway E6. You can also drive closer to the fjord, following an older road. However, driving in the city center of Trondheim is tricky since there are many one way roads and limited parking spaces. If you plan to rent a car and drive to Trondheim, we recommend you check the parking options with your hotel in advance.
